PRESS RELEASE
The Eagle River City Council does not designate specific hours for Trick or Treating in the City of Eagle River for Halloween on October 31st. The Police Department encourages parents to bring their children to the Northland Pines Middle School for the Eagle River Lions Club Hallogras Children's Halloween Party. This year's event will run from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on October 31st. Additionally Our Savior Lutheran Church located at 223 Silver Lake Road will be hosting a Trunk or Treat even from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM in the parking lot of the church.
For those who wish to Trick or Treat door to door in the city, the Police Department encourages going only to residences where a porch light is turned on and not disturbing residents not participating in Trick or Treating. Parents are encouraged to make sure children can see clearly through any masks they may be wearing and to incorporate reflective material in the costumes if possible. Parents are also highly encouraged to examine all treats prior to allowing their children to consume them.
Children should be warned against entering the residence of strangers and the use of flashlights while walking to increase visibility is recommended.
The City of Eagle River and the Police Department hopes that everyone has a safe and fun Halloween.
Chief of Police

The Eagle River Police Department reminds the public about changes in the parking enforcement for the city of Eagle River in regard to the downtown area.
The Eagle River City Council voted to remove parking meters on a trial basis from the downtown area and limit parking to three hours with enforcement by chalking tires, with the exception of a few metered stalls on North Main Street which will be designated as 15-minute metered parking.
The three-hour parking zones will be enforced now through Saturday, Sept. 5. Three-hour parking will be enforced Mondays through Saturdays between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. Parking is not enforced Sundays or holidays.
The following areas are designated as three-hour parking areas:
- The municipal parking lot located south of Wall Street and west of Railroad Street. The west side of this lot will not be enforced for the three-hour limit.
- The municipal parking lot located north of Wall Street and west of Railroad Street. The west side of this lot will not be enforced for the three-hour limit.
- The municipal parking lot located west of North Main Street and south of Division Street.
- Railroad Street between Pine and Spruce streets.
- Wall Street between Railroad and Fourth streets.
- Main Street to a point halfway down the block in either direction from Wall Street.
- First Street to a point halfway down the block in either direction from Wall Street.
- Second Street to a point halfway down the block in either direction from Wall Street.
All-day parking in parking zones designated for three-hour time limits will be strictly enforced, according to Police Chief Mark Vander Bloomen.
"Vehicles that are cited for a parking violation will continue to be cited for a parking violation every hour after the first violation occurred until the vehicle is removed in accordance with municipal ordinance Section 86," said Vander Bloomen.
The fine for violating the three-hour parking time limit is $10.
